K9 Attitudes, LLC, offers an open puppy class available to dogs between ages 12 weeks and 6 months. Therefore, you may attend as many times as you wish until 6 months of age. We offer private lessons should you desire anytime at any age. Each week your dog will be allowed to socialize and play with other dogs for 30 minutes and then we teach basic commands to you and your puppy. Class is held on Saturdays and they are limited to 10 dogs. Please call or email for dates and times on the classes.
The cost for each puppy class is $25.00 per dog. A registration form on your puppy will be required prior to start, please go to the forms link at the bottom of this page. Payment for the first class, proof of complete vaccinations and registration will be required prior to class. They may be brought to the first class or mailed to: K9 Attitudes, LLC 400 Plains Road Milford CT 06461.
Supplies you will need for class are: 4 or 5 ft. leather/nylon leash, training collar and treats. Although, we try to use all verbal motivators, treats are sometimes necessary at their stage of life and attention. Soft treats we recommended are: freeze dried beef, chicken or turkey liver, cheese or hot dogs. We have leather leashes and various training collars available for purchase. Retractable leashes or chain leashes are not permitted at class.
You will find it easier to teach your puppy commands once he/she is physically exercised. This is our reason for the 30 minute playtime before class.

If you have an aggressive puppy, he/she will be addressed separately from class. When the trainer feels like the puppy and owner have the aggression controlled you will then be permitted to attend the puppy class. Aggressive behavior is disruptive to other members of the class. If you feel your puppy is aggressive please call before attending the class for a pre-interview consultation.
