Welcome Home Puppy Class
K9 Attitudes, LLC puppy class is available to dogs between ages 12 weeks and 6 months. There is a limit of 10 dogs per class. Classes are held during the week in the evening or weekend days and we start a new class each month. Please call for the next start date.
The cost for the 8 week puppy class is $200.00 per dog. A registration form on your puppy will be required prior to start, please click here to print out. Payment, full completion of vaccinations and registration will be required prior to class and mailed to: K9 Attitudes, LLC 400 Plains Road Milford CT 06461.
A puppy book will be provided for all attendees. The puppy book covers: housebreaking, chewing, mouthing/biting and socialization. Puppy behavior will be reviewed on the first lesson.
Supplies you will need for class are: 4 or 5 ft. leather/nylon leash, training collar and treats. Although, we try to use all verbal motivators, treats are sometimes necessary. Soft treats we recommended are: chicken, cheese or hot dogs. We also have leashes and training collars available for purchase. Retractable leashes or chain leashes are not permitted at class.
You should exercise your puppy for 30 - 45 minutes before attending the class. You will find it easier to teach your puppy commands once he/she is physically exercised. For detailed information on exercise you can visit: http://www.k9attitudes.com under training tips.
If you have an aggressive puppy, he/she will be addressed separately from class. When the trainer feels like the puppy and owner have the aggression controlled you will then be permitted to attend the puppy class. Aggressive behavior is disruptive to other members of the class. If you feel your puppy is aggressive please call before attending the class for a pre-interview consultation.
