Mae,

I want to thank you so much for speaking with me on the telephone about Casey (my one year old Maltese) and giving me great advice on her continued housebreaking and mouth biting issues.

Mae was filled with knowledge and great advice and I really appreciate the assistance.  I'm going back to the basics and I'm sure Casey will be the better for it.

Thanks so much Mae.  I will be in touch and let you know how everything is going!

When we rescued our Irish Wolfhound Sam he was a nightmare. With Mae and Ray's expert teaching and rehabilitation we have a dog who listens to us, and is a great family pet. We can not thank Mae and Ray enough for the tools they taught us to sculpt Sam into a gentle giant. Thanks K9 Attitudes!

Isabel’s Odyssey

“She’s the one,” Mae said as she and Ray entered my home for the first time, surrounded by three other members of my canine family. “Yes, she is the catalyst… You have your hands full with that one.” I was terrified—I suddenly realized this was serious.

So began one of the most challenging ventures of my life. How do I save my pack? How do I become the leader of my pack?   It is interesting how these unexpected dynamics parallel other life challenges, daring us to find a way, a rescue…

So often I have said “I love them so much.   They know this; it will work itself out.” Mae and Ray in their priceless wisdom have shown me that, yes, love is a critical link in the responsibility chain of balance; yet that is but one link. They taught me (and continue to teach me) how to command (not demand) stability and respect from my loving, beautiful, and admittedly eccentric pets.

I was on the verge of despair , realizing that the once “not an option” suggestion of giving one of them up was suddenly there, an ominous threat to what I always considered an ever-held principle, never to be compromised.

There are no easy fixes, no short-term contrivances---animals are too smart, too instigative for such parochial measures.   My animals challenge me to my core, forcing me to solutions to their unavoidable conclusions---ready or not.

And so I ask for strength, perseverance, wisdom in bringing this scenario to a happy ever after conclusion. With time and the invaluable guidance May and Rae have provided, I have learned from Mae and Ray , Isabel’s devilish twinkle is becoming one of fun-loving mischief rather than unguided insecure dominance. She is beginning to see that I can now provide the foundation of balance they all need. We are all loving members of a family rescue in progress.

I understand now: This is not just Isabel’s odyssey, after all…

Hi Mae and Ray,

I wanted to write to tell you and others how wonderful the two of you have been with Cody.  Mae and Ray came to me after my searching on Cesar Milan's website for a trainer who has experience with aggressive/fear aggressive dog.  Cody was a rescue at a very early age and although he was well trained, we went through some basic courses which he excelled at, I needed in home 1 on 1 training.  I was also happy to know that my local grooming salon Murphy's Paw highly recommended them.

When Cody met Mae and Ray he was deathly afraid.  He was shaking and barking.  They calmly walked in and directed me how to bring him under control.  We proceeded to work with him for the next few months and continue to do so today both through our bi-weekly meet and greet and one on one.

Cody and I are a work in progress constantly learning and hopefully growing with each meeting,  We are currently whistle training.

Mae and Ray are always accessible and have been a huge asset in our lives.  No matter the situation or time they have walked me through multiple issues which have come up.

Thanks for all your effort and your continued support.  I look forward to working the new addition Lola with you.

Christine

K9 Attitudes has been a godsent to my Mastiff Trey. He is a big boy and a lot to handle. I got worried and frustrated when he became agressive when he never used to be. Ray jumped right in with the training and had Trey more focused and taking commands in no time. With time and practice, Trey has become an amazingly well mannered walker, great around all different people and dogs, and much more calm and submissive. He is now the life of the party and I always get comments on how well behaved he is.

Thanks Ray and Mae!! See you soon at a meet and greet!!

When Logan first came to live with us he was running the house. Never having had a dog before, I was at a loss as to how to begin. Life was coming at us fast and Logan, a rescued dog, was clearly here to stay with us. When K9 Attitudes/Mae and Ray were recommended to us we knew we had found a very special couple. Logan recognized that also. He LOVED their visits and eagerly performed as requested. After our initial training at home, one on one, Logan is now ready to attend the classes. He's pretty much an 'at home' dog, so the socializing, which includes further training, is the best combination of love, caring, and training. You guys have all the ingredients to train pets to live domestically and lovingly in our homes. Thanks, for all the effort you put into doing a professional job. We will certainly let others know about the great jobs you both do!

Hi Mae and Ray,

I just wanted to fill you in on what has been going on with Murray.

As you know, a couple of months ago he injured his back. He seemed to heal and was doing very well.

Two weeks ago he jumped off the couch and injured his back. We immediately started him back on the anti-inflammatory drug that had worked last time, but the next morining his back legs were completely immobile.

It was Sunday morning so we rushed hms to the emergency vet in Danbury. They referred us to the Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center in Bedford Hills, New York. All I can say is thank God that we have such a great facility that is fairly close to us. Murray had ruptured a disk and needed immediate surgery. Apparently, this is a hereditary disease that runs in beagles, dachunds and some other breeds (IVDD is the name of the disk disease).

Murray is doing better than expected. He is able to support his weight on his back legs, can wag his tail and can walk a bit. It will be a long recovery, but it looks like he will regain most if not all of his mobility.

One thing that has been a God send is the training that we did with you guys. It is extremely important that he stays calm, quiet and that he rests a lot. If he jumps or runs he could re-injure himself.

I thought that this might be something that you can pass on to other dog owners. It just emphasizes the importance of good fundamental training.

I hope that all is well with you guys and the pups.

Keep in touch,
Carole

Dear Mae and Ray,

I wanted to take a moment to formally thank you both for all you did with Buster/Baxter.

I firmly believe that if it were not for your experience, knowledge and diligent efforts, our little friend would not be in such a loving home right now. The transformation was absolutely unbelieveable and just goes to show that there are really "no bad dogs".

His reputations as a hellion has now been replaced with that of a gentleman, although often a little mischievous he is quite the lover and definately strives to please. From Carole's progress reports I can tell that our little man is doing quite well.

I have also noiticed the change in George as well. The consistency of using what you taught us in the training sessions has paid off in so many ways.

If you ever need a reference I would be more than happy to provide oen and I am sure that both Carole and Jennifer would as well. If you have business cards, please pass a few on to Carole for me. My cousin has a boxer in need of training and I am sure that I will run into someone that is looking for a trainer and I would love to be able to recommend you.

Thanks again for all you have done, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Lynette Purciello
