About the Trainer:

Mae Charron

I started training in 1992 with Animal Attitudes in Arizona. I was currently in the medical field full-time and decided to train my dominant aggressive dog, Logun.

I saw the results on how you can rehab a dog's behavior with positive reinforcement and decided to pursue it part-time. During this period, I traveled with several different trainers to observe and learn many different dog behaviors and training techniques. After learning how to read dog behavior, I conducted the city parks and recreation group classes and gained experience in teaching in a group setting.

After 3 years training part-time, I then began to take on my own clientele on a full-time basis and continued to work for Animal Attitudes as an independent contractor. I began working in clients homes to train one-on-one with the families and their pets. Training in the home, I saw the changes happening as we started the lessons and felt the client and their pet get the attention they both required. When working in the home, I teach the owners to understand the motivation for the problem from the dog's point of view. The canine and human connection has to be made to achieve a balanced pack in the home.

After leaving Arizona the year 2005 and moving to Connecticut, I continued my business as a full-time trainer. It was hard leaving all my dog friends I had gained over the years, but I am now starting to open a new chapter in my life in Connecticut and now I am gaining new dog friends as I go along the way!

My current dogs are a fox terrier (Summer) and a pug (Reily). Summer is a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc. Logun (lab/chow pictured in Memories) passed away in February of 2007. Logun taught me to be diligent, patient and most of all happy with my four legged friends.
